Reactance
Reactance is the opposition to the flow of alternating current offered by a capacitor or an inductor or both. It’s symbol is X. It’s unit is ohm.
Recall that indirect current circuits the opposition to the flow of direct current offered by resistor is called resistance. It’s symbol is the ohm. However in an AC circuit containing a capacitor or an inductor or both the opposition to current flow is called the reactance.
Capacitive reactance
Capacity reactants may be defined as the opposition to the flow of alternating current offered by a capacitor. It’s symbol is given by XC.
